Leading an innovation to change my practise has been a great thinking and dicussion point with my collaboritve team.

I have embarked on several conversations landing me on focusing on changing the way I deliever math to my students.

I am currently teaching a Year 3 class of 6 and 7 year olds. I am concerned that they are spending too much time engaged in play activities that are not building on their math skills.
As a result of my Post Grad study I have decided to flip my math sessions and implement a in class flip model to overcome the lack of technology in the home.

Using the concept of a Flipped Classroom I arranged a meeting with my school Principal to get him on board {(early adopter) making a movement}. I emailed him the link to the above Flipped Classroom youtube video with a comment instructing him to watch the video before our meeting. The result of this was positive.  At the beginning of the meeting I asked if he had watched it, fortuneatly he had resulting in the meeting moving from focusing on selling him the concept to simply problem solving possible hurdles. He was instantly on board as a result of what he had seen.

I plan on using the above to implement the innovation as it has positive steps with fast rewards as well as using the graphic organisiers to guide us in our learning.
